Guidelines for Teachers of TTNQ

Teacher-in-training:
 
  • Must have completed their “Practitioner’s Workbook” and have received their “Recognized Practitioner’s” diploma. (RP) either from Québec or another province in Canada;
  • Must be a member in good standing with their provincial network (TTNQ)  and their dues paid to date;
  • Must sign and abide by the “code of ethics”;
  • Must teach a minimum of one course per year to keep their ‘recognition’ status active or attended one Practice Day (8 hours);
  • The fees for their levels are not fixed i.e. they may charge what is considered a fair price for their courses;
  • The teaching of Level One to teaching Level Three must be scheduled over a minimum of three months.

Teacher-in-training and their Mentor;

  •  Only a recognized teacher (RT) may mentor a teacher-in-training;
  • The mentor may be from any province as long as the mentor is part of a Therapeutic Touch Network in Canada;
  • The mentor may charge a rate for their services. This rate is not fixed and may be judged reasonable by both parties;
  • The mentor must communicate with the “teacher liaison” of TTNQ to give updates on the nature of the Teacher candidate etc.

Teacher–in-training giving courses :

  •  The teacher-in-training will set-up their courses according to the curriculum of the TTNQ and under the guidance of their mentor;
  • The mentor will attend and act as an “observer” of each of the three levels taught by the teacher-in-training. After each level has been taught; the teacher-in-training may teach as a “recognized” teacher of that level without the presence of their mentor;
  • The mentor after the “observing” of each level will sit with the Teacher-in-training and make helpful suggestions to improve their courses. This critique will be written and sent to the “teacher liaison”;
  • The teacher-in-training will receive a diploma of “recognized teacher” (RT) status and it will be published on our website. Their name will be added to the list of teachers on the network website.
 Practitioner’s Workbook :
 
  • The “Practitioner’s Workbook is considered as part of the student’s advanced study. Those who purchase the workbook are strongly recommended to become a member of the TTNQ. In other words, to be a member of the Network is optional but for those considering giving treatments to the public (volunteer) or working for a fee; the student must be a member of the Therapeutic Touch Network of Québec.
 Recognized Teacher taking a Sabbatical :
 
  • If the teacher needs to take time-off for one or two years due to personal issues; they must re-apply to the “teacher liaison” and take a “refresher” course with another recognized teacher of at least one level of TT. The “teacher liaison” may judge whether the teacher may continue teaching after a long absence and update said teacher of any new changes within the network.
Teacher and advertising :
 
  • Teachers may advertise their levels on our website: www.ttnq.ca  but are required to have them removed when the course is finished. All levels have a format i.e. level, location, date, time, cost and contact information;
  •  Any other courses put on the website by said teacher must be approved by the Board of Directors. These courses must be “energy” related and connected to TT. For example; other modalities may not be advertised;
  •  Teachers agree to having their names on our website, under ‘recognized teachers”, using their contact information or email.
Recognition of practitioners of TT outside the province :
 
  • Practitioners from other provinces are recommended to take their training in the province where they reside;
  •  Practitioners moving to Québec who have taken levels from another province (their provincial network being a member of “TTNC” Therapeutic Touch Network of Canada) their levels will be recognized by the TTNQ.
Disputes between teacher :
 
  • Any disputes or disagreements must be brought to the Teacher Liaison and an amicable solution will hopefully be obtained. If not, the teachers must contact the Board of Directors of TTNQ for a resolution of their problem;
  •  Any unethical work (see Code of Ethics) done by a “recognized teacher” is unacceptable and the teacher will have their status as “recognized teacher” revoked. A complaint received by the Board of Directors of unethical work would be reviewed by the board and the teacher before a final decision would be made.
